Live-in Care is an alternative option to moving into residential care home.
Fully trained carers live alongside you in the comfort of your own home.
“Network Live in Care require our carers to provide evidence of a minimum of two years’ experience within the care sector prior to recruitment.” says Jael Alfonso who focuses on attracting live in carers for the company
Your live-in carer will support you with your specific needs as agreed in your care plan to keep you comfortable and independent at home.
Live-in carers are trained to help with:
Companionship & emotional support for you or your loved one
Personal Care – Help with dressing & bathing
Assistance with mobilising using your own equipment for example walking frames, hoists and stairlifts.
Supervising and prompting of taking prescribed medication
Meal Planning personalised to you – all dietary & nutritional needs taken into consideration
Help with taking you to medical appointments
Attending social events or hosting social events with family
Domestic Household Chores – including cleaning, hoovering, ironing, washing etc
These are some of the services a care company will design around a clients specific needs as a CQC Regulated provider
Don't be fooled by marketing spin if seeking care for a loved one
Care introductory agencies are NOT regulated by the Care Quality Commission
They DO NOT provide a fully managed service or train care workers
YOU are responsible for ensuring the carer does their job
If the sales and marketing blurb says:
"an Introductory Agency pursuant to the Health & Social Care Act 2008"
It means they are NOT allowed to deliver any care services directly to you or a loved one.
It might state on a website that they are:
"an Introductory agency (as defined in the Health & Social Care Act 2008) and accepted by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This is a care agency model that is approved by the CQC and is acting under their regulations.
Looks impressive BUT it is exactly the same thing.
To translate, they are an introduction agency that the CQC DOES NOT REGULATE.
So, if you are looking for a professionally managed service that IS REGULATED by the Care Quality Commission, then their website will clearer state this AND there will be a CQC logo linking to the RATING of the service.
The devil is in the detail
Playing with the emotions and ignorance of the general public can be dangerous.
Would you agree?
